The massage is performed fully clothed although access to your
shoulders should be given if you wish to receive the full massage
sequence. It is executed on the upper back where tension often settles,
the shoulders, back of the neck, arms, scalp and face.
A complete video of our Indian head massage sequence is available for
purchase. As far as I know, we are the only school to provide this
invaluable facility. With this video, you will be able to view the
strokes again and again and will never forget them.
At the end of this course, you should feel thoroughly relaxed and
will probably sleep extremely well.
Course content - 2 days :
- The History
- The purpose and benefits
- The power of touch
- The 7 Chakras explained
- Stress
- Contra Indications
- Insurance and Diploma
- Preparing for a Massage
- Lengthy demonstration and practise on how to safely give a Scalp,
Face, Neck, Shoulder and Upper Arm Massage
Remember that this course is backed up by a complete video of the
whole sequence. This is unique and ensures that you never forget what
you have learnt.
Our own school Diploma will be issued at the end of this course.
This diploma is currently recognised by I.P.T.I.
(Independent Professional Therapists International), BCMA British
Complementary Medicine Association (B.C.M.A) and BABTAC
(British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology Ltd).
I.P.T.I. is a United Kingdom based organisation formed to serve the
needs of aestheticians, alternative and complementary therapists
throughout the world. They cover a large range of therapies. Their
membership is open to all therapists holding national or state
recognised qualifications such as the one offered in this course.
B.C.M.A is in turn recognised by the English government.
BABTAC is one of the largest qualifying bodies in the UK. See
BABTAC's letter of recognition here.
Provided you already hold a recognised qualification in Anatomy &
Physiology & Body Massage, BABTAC will accept you under their Public
Liability Insurance cover. You will be able to display BABTAC after your
name if you join this association.
If you are already qualified in A&P and Massage, your existing
insurance should be able to add Indian Head Massage to your insurance
with our diploma. Check with them this is so. However, if you are
already qualified and insured to massage, then you can obviously massage
arms, face, scalp and neck. Which is what Indian Head Massage is about.
If you are not already qualified in any therapy, there still is hope:
- You will need to attend our 2 day Indian Head Massage course
- You will need to study our
Internet correspondence course in Anatomy & Physiology
(don't worry, no nasty examination at the end, just constant
monitoring and you can work at your own pace)
- Submit 6 case histories (this is fully explained during the
course)
- and demonstrate your massage to us to receive your full diploma
and get insurance. £35 will be charged for the examination.
with the above, our insurers will cover you so you can legally
practice in this country.
Cost : £98.00 for the 2 days
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
